Hot date.....

Ben and I went on our first hot date in.......well, I don't even remember the last time we went out on a date without a chaperone! We had our last opportunity to use our babysitting group services before we disbanded for the summer, so we decided to go for it. I fed and changed Jarom right before we left, We dropped the boys off at our friends' house, and they were in such good moods, that I was certain that all would be just fine. Not 2 minutes after we left, Jarom started crying, so it was a long hour for poor Melissa. Thank heaven she is an experienced mom, and didn't take it too personally. Ben and I went out in the "sports car" as Dallin likes to call it, which incidentally makes me feel fatter because the car is smaller, but I just feel like I am taking up more space.....okay, I have issues. Anyway, it was a lot of fun, and very strange to have a dinner all to ourselves! After dinner we picked up the boys, and we all piled into the sports car to go home (they were just 15 seconds away from home, but it was raining, so being the wimps we are, we drove.) We pulled into the driveway, and we all just kind of stayed where we were. Dad in the driver's seat, me in the passenger side, and Jarom in his car seat on my lap, and of course, Dallin volleying for space on my lap too! It was reminiscent of when Ben and I would park in front of my house after our dates before we were married and "talk" before calling it a night. Oh, how our lives have changed, and how much better our dates are now, because we have two absolutely wonderful sons to come home to. Oh, and Jarom has forgiven us for abandoning him!
